A Brazil Travel Package isn’t everyone’s first thought when planning a romantic getaway. The name of Buzios in Brazil may not be a familiar one to you, and yet it is a well known destination for the rich and famous about three hours north of Rio by car on the tip of a long peninsula. Once a sleepy village it lies alongside some of the most beautiful dune lined beaches, in fact there are twenty five of them in all, and each one picture postcard beautiful. Buzios was made famous in the sixties when Brigette Bardot named it as her favourite beach retreat.

Buzios also is the home of the delightful luxury boutique hotel called the Casas Brancas, which is a real romantic hideaway getaway.

The Casas Brancas, which was built in the 1970′s, is real old school charm is terraced into a hillside overlooking the bay of Buzios and has only 32 individually decorated rooms and Suites.

All the rooms are air conditioned, have cable television, bar and safe, with free WI-Fi in the central areas of the hotel are nine standard rooms overlooking the garden, 14 superior rooms with a view of the ocean, some of which have a small private verandah. There are 6 seafront Deluxe rooms, more spacious than the Superior, and some have a little private verandah.

There are 3 oceanfront Suites with large private balconies, considerably more room than the Deluxe rooms. You can also walk straight out onto the beach. The suites would impress on a romantic getaway package!! If you can get Suite 21, then it has a jacuzzi.

The Casas Brancas prides itself on giving its guests the services of a hotel and the comfort of home, and the quite superb staff certainly come close to achieving this objective. They are both attentive yet unobtrusive, efficient and extremely discrete.

The Casas Brancas has a Greek Meditteranean feel and look to it, and overlooking the bay, and being a few steps away from both the beach and the town. You will see some of the most romantic sunsets you could ever imagine.

Meals are taken overlooking the Bay of Buzios, and the restaurant serves a Brazilian Meditteranean fusion.

You can sit in the restaurant under a terracotta canopy, and the view, the service, and the sheer quality of the food will ensure you don’t rush. Imagine steak cooked so that it literally melts in your mouth, and fish so beautifully cooked you crave for more.

The restaurant has a very good reputation in Buzios, but you must go out into Buzios and enjoy local food. The hotel is only a five minute walk from the Rua das Pedras the famous main street where you will find restaurants, shop,s bars, and live music, and the fishing boats lined up on the shore.

Buzios is famous for its beaches so you might do well to hire a car, although many of the famous beaches are within walking distance

There are few more romantic spots in Brazil than Buzios, and no better spot for a romantic getaway than the luxury boutique hotel that is the Casas Brancas.

All inclusive worry-free travel throughout Brazil.
Help answer the question about brazil travel
What are the pros and cons of using a travel agent to plan a vacation to Brazil?
Hello Everyone! My girlfriend wants to travel to Brazil next year for carnival, and would like to use a travel agent to plan our arrangements, while I would much rather plan everything on my own using the internet as a primary resource. Could anyone tell me the benefits and negative aspects of using a travel agent to plan a vacation of this type? Also, I would really appreciate it if anyone who recently traveled to Rio De Janiero could share some opinions and perhaps "insider" tips on traveling to this destination. Thank you.

Summer starts in December and ends in February in this South American country. So before going on a trip to Brazil, one has to have enough information on what to bring. Here are a few tips to help in deciding in what to prepare for a trip to this fine country.

* Protect your photo equipment and other equipment sensitive to humidity.

Humidity is high in Brazil. Sealable plastic bags are also useful, so make sure to bring some.

* Bring your medication and prescription.

If you brought some medication, make sure you declare it at the Customs. There are also some drugs that can be bought from the chemist without a prescription.

* Buy mosquito repellent and sun block when you get there.

These are of good quality and are suitable formulated for the conditions of the country.

* Get Hepatitis shots before leaving for Brazil.

Hepatitis A, B and C cases are prevalent in Brazil. Also, always wash your hands before eating. Use appropriate disinfectants and antiseptics.

* Pack light

Most air carriers have a luggage limit of 20 kilos. Having your clothes washable and mix-matched for different look is more advisable than carrying more clothes. When not on a business trip, pack casual clothes as most Brazilians dress casually.

* Keep copies of all your important documents.

You may leave copies of these with a friend back home, or keep copies in a separate location from the originals. You can also email the copies to yourself.

* Bring a pair of sandals

If the reason for the trip to Brazil is the beaches, then a pair of sandals, together with one’s bathing suit and hat is necessary.

* Bring some deodorant and perfume.

One sweats too here and these essentials are very handy.

* Never leave your belongings unattended.

If you can settle for disposable cameras, then, do so.

* Learn some Portuguese.

Knowledge of Portuguese can help when communicating with the locals. English, Spanish, German, French and Italian are also spoken in tourist areas.

* Have valid entry documents.

One’s passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Foreign tourists are given a maximum of 180 days to stay in 1 year. Renewals for 90 days may be obtained from Policia Federal.

* Have some cash handy.

Major credit cards- MasterCard, Visa, Amex and Diners – are accepted, as well as traveler’s checks. Cash will be needed if you are going outside the major cities.

With these guidelines, one can look forward to having an enjoyable travel to Brazil.
